A Disappointing Start for Pecco Bagnaia in Thailand
The 2026 MotoGP season has not kicked off as planned for Pecco Bagnaia, with his struggles continuing into the Thai Grand Prix. Despite initial hopes of a confident start, Bagnaia found himself in a challenging position, finishing 13th in qualifying and 9th in the sprint race.
But here's where it gets controversial... After a tough 2025 season, Bagnaia and his factory Ducati team were aiming for a fresh start. However, the rider's inability to adapt to the changing track conditions has left him struggling to find his groove.
"It's a complex situation," Bagnaia shared with Sky Italy. "The bike and track remain the same, yet the conditions have shifted, and I'm struggling to adapt and make the most of them. It's a personal challenge I must overcome."
And this is the part most people miss... Bagnaia's issues go beyond just the track. He admits that the lack of lone riding and the presence of other riders on the track significantly impact his performance. "The grip is reduced, and the dynamics change when you're not riding alone. It's a fine line between braking effectively and not stopping at all."
Bagnaia's first points since the 2025 Malaysian GP sprint came as a relief, but he's not satisfied. "We're still figuring out the corner-entry issues at Buriram. It's a long process, but I'm staying calm and focused on improvement."
So, what do you think? Is Bagnaia's slow adaptation a cause for concern, or is it a temporary setback? Share your thoughts in the comments and let's discuss!
